Getting to Nkroful

By Private Vehicle:
From Takoradi, drive west toward Elubo, following clearly marked signs. After about 1 hour and 30 minutes, you’ll reach the town of Esiama. From there, take a right turn to Nkroful, and drive approximately 4 kilometres to reach the town center.

By Public Transport:
At Takoradi’s main lorry station, board a bus or minibus heading toward Elubo. Alight at Esiama, then take a local taxi or 'tro-tro' (shared minibus) for the short trip to Nkroful.


What to See in Nkroful

  • Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum (Nkroful): Visit the original burial site of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, where a mausoleum and modest memorial stand in honor of Ghana’s founding leader.

  • River Subre: A short walk from the town, this river is believed to have spiritual and healing powers, attracting many visitors who come to seek blessings, healing, and success.
